Trichoscopy and Hair Assessment
What is trichoscopy?
The term trichoscopy comes from the Greek language (Greek trichos = hair, skopein = to look at/examine) and is a compound medical term that literally refers to the “observation of hair”. Trichoscopy is a hair and scalp examination performed with a special high-resolution device that provides detailed information about hair density, hair thickness and the condition of the scalp. Whether it is sudden hair loss, thinning hair or hereditary baldness, an accurate diagnosis is always essential for drawing up a personalised treatment plan and for successful later hair treatment or hair transplantation.
AI-supported hair diagnostics
At our clinic we place great emphasis on using the most modern technological solutions. The system we use for trichoscopy analyses the examination data in real time with the help of artificial intelligence, so both the patient and the doctor receive an immediate, detailed assessment of the condition of the scalp and hair. The software provides precise data on the following:
- the size of the examined area,
- the number and quality of the hairs,
- the degree of hair thinning (severity of androgenetic alopecia),
- and the estimated number of available grafts – helping to determine suitability for a hair transplant.
No preparation, painless
The trichoscopic examination is non-invasive, causes no discomfort and does not require shaving the hair or any other preparation. This is especially advantageous for those who are planning, for example, a Long Hair FUE hair transplant (a hair transplant without shaving).
TrichoLAB Transplanner 3D: more precise surgical planning
TrichoLAB Transplanner 3D supports hair transplant planning with three-dimensional visualization. Before the procedure and before any grafts are harvested, the software estimates the graft capacity of different parts of the donor area, giving a more realistic picture of how many grafts are available. The condition of the donor area, such as hair miniaturization, is part of the assessment too, which helps judge suitability for a transplant and the achievable result more objectively.
Which regenerative therapies are available?
Our patients have access to therapies based on the latest research.
Rigenera Activa A procedure developed for the treatment of male pattern baldness, androgenetic alopecia, specifically intended for the treatment of baldness in its early stage. We use the therapy both as a stand-alone treatment and as a complement to hair transplantation. Read more about the treatment
I-PRF therapy I-PRF therapy can be applied with high effectiveness in both male and female hair loss. In most cases the treatment has been proven to stop hair loss, and significant results can be expected in strengthening the hairs and in reactivating dormant follicles. Read more about the treatment
Dermapen One of the most modern and effective forms of microneedling. When treating thinned, weakened hair, microneedling therapy stimulates stem cells and increases the production of growth factors. Through the tiny channels created by the hundreds or thousands of fine needle punctures, the active ingredients used in mesotherapy reach the deeper layers of the skin more effectively than with widely used topical products.
